Class Description

The Photoshop class will be for the beginner and intermediate Photoshop user. For the newer people it will lay the groundwork to understanding the essentials working with digital files. Resolution, one of the most misunderstood part of digital imaging will be covered in detail, also properly sizing files for different output and the do's and dont's of file interpolation. Working with different color modes, RGB, Lab, etc, and the proper use of each mode for digital quality. Explanation of the different color spaces, sRGB, Adobe 1998, etc. and what color space should you be using. The myths about monitor calibration and how to adjust monitor to get the same color you are getting from your lab. After those very essential basics, I will cover several things: Proper color correction of images and how to tweak the tonal range of an image to get maximum detail from the whitest whites thru the blackest blacks, what you see on your monitor is NOT what you get! Advanced eye enhancement, photo retouching, vignetting. Setting up actions to simplify work flow and save many hours of work. I will also cover B&W conversion to get the best quality that rivals Black and White film, selective colorizing, and toning images. Other areas will be covered depending on time frame.
This is a must class for the person using Photoshop for 2 years or less and also for the intermediate user that never totally understood the essentials of resolution, calibration, color modes and spaces, etc.

NOTE: The class will be 4-5 hours in length and the cost would be an additional $75.00. Please respond immediately if you are interested in taking the class. If there are enough interested photographers, we will make the necessary arrangements to proceed further.
