Bio

James W. Byron is a portrait photographer located in Patterson, Louisiana on the beautiful Bayou Teche. James began his photographic career in `1983 and has built his business creating beautiful images of families, weddings, children and executives. This program started as a personal project inspired by several fellow photographers wishing to learn natural lighting. He welcomes anyone to spend time at the zoo with him capturing some amazing images. You have to bring a little patience along. James has received many degrees which include Master, Craftsman, Certified Professional Photographer, Approved Photographic Instructor and his favorite is the Imaging Excellence Award given by PPA for professionals with 13 “Loan Merits”. He is one of 3 in his State. Another accomplishment close to his heart is: PPA awards the Elite and Elite Plus membership status to its more accomplished members. You can’t buy into an Elite Membership! You have to earn it! And you earn it with your photographic achievements through PPA. Byron has been awarded both. He has been “Photographer of the Year twice for Professional Photographers of Louisiana and “Photographer of the Year” for PPA levels, Gold, Bronze, Platinum and Silver.

Byron enjoys teaching workshops and mentoring as well as teaching a 5-day CPP Workshop several times a year. Byron’s passion to teach and share his knowledge is known by all. He is never too busy to help a fellow photographer.
