We’ll be heading South from Lake Charles and hitting some of the Birding Hotspots. James Byron and I did a dry run last weekend. The birding was not particularly good. It was quite windy. However, I did manage to get a few shots (see below). I’m putting this out in the hopes of getting feedback on a preferred date. Again, we’re talking December and would like some good participation. I’m pretty much open and am thinking about a Saturday, either the 4th, 11th, or 18th. Please post here with your preference. The exact route has not been finalized and the date will be influenced by the weather. A tentative route would include Cameron Prairie Wildlife Refuge, The Cameron Ferry, Calcasieu Point Boat Lading (maybe?), Peveto Woods, The Gulf Coast along HWY 82, Weeks Island, Laccassine National Wildlife Refuge, and many side roads along the way. As I say, this will all be fluid. The route will depend on the wishes of the group. James Byron and I were out all day. We can make this as little, or as much, as we wish. So, please chime in on your interest and preferred date. In addition to fellowship and good times, I hope we can all discuss our different techniques as we travel the Gulf Coast.
