2023 PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR: Lela Whiddon

Congratulations to our 2023 Photographer of the Year!

I opened Lela K’s portrait and wedding photography studio in 1990, in Evangeline, La.   I specialize in family, children. and high school seniors, and although I no longer shoot weddings, I have photographed hundreds of them in the past.   I am a Master Photographer and Certified Professional Photographer, and I believe that you are never too old to learn something new!  I very much enjoy working with clients and creating images that they will treasure!   However, the artistic side of photography is my own kind of therapy.  I love taking an ordinary image and making it into an art piece.  Image competition is always a challenge for me, but it has been very rewarding in so many ways!  I am proud to be PPLA’s Photographer of the Year!
